Something about the Geico caveman gets me angry... I'll make sure to get some anger counseling regarding my anti cavemen feelings :bash:.

Probably the avatar. His and kingnut's. I associate the avatar with the poster and because of this I think of them as being retards. I assume many think I'm a fink. :-D

we are running 3.15s right now. by my calculations, I think it would have about 172 to 173 in it all the way out.

The more we keep looking at the logs, I believe the issue is the temperature of the car.

If I wasn't set on the glide, we'd probably keep playing with fuel trims on launch and try to tune around the cold start,

who knows, we may end up with that issue with the glide as well, but i'm thinking coming out at the higher rpm will help

We got about 9 passes out of the block.

it cracked in the valley

Terry, are you still on stock ECU?

I certainly don't want to tell you how to tune your car, but if you are, have you thought about the idea of 'tricking the ecu' into a specific coolant temperature reading? You could wire up a separate mechanical or electrical temp gauge that would tell you the actual temp, but as far as the computer is concerned, it could be 'locked' so there isn't a cold start issue.

Idk, just thinking out loud..

we were playing with that for the first elimination run,

the trick is, there is no coolant temp sensor in these cars....

we were hoping unhooking the cylinder head temp sensor would do the trick, but I believe it's just for the gauge itself.

how the car actually "infers" the coolant temp, I am looking into

I can tell you that unhooking the sensor will also send the car into limp mode which is only fixed by pulling the negative cable.

The cylinder head temp sensor is absolutely not for the gauge itself though.

I rely on that very sensor to keep my motor in one piece when spraying so myself and CBRTRX have a pretty good idea how it works. 200+ lbs of nitrous later, everything is still in one piece. lol

Just my $.02 based on my experience

JPC is on top for now and turbo's do make more power, but until last week never had the track times to show it.

The JPC turbo car ran 9.0s with a Magnum 6 speed. Running a stick Turbo car isn't ideal and very difficult to go fast. This same combo drove to/from Mustang Week in July as well as driving around all summer to shows etc.

The only change made about 2 weeks ago was putting in the Glide. First pass off the trailer with the Glide netted the 8.59 on low boost. 2nd pass at BG netted an 8.16 and the 4th pass netted the 8.02@170 at BG. I'd say that's pretty damn impressive to have a drop in ET by 1 second with less than 10 passes on the combo and in less than 2 weeks. And there's still a lot more tuning to be made with the Launch, fine tuning the Boost controller etc.

the car didn't go into limp mode at all. I was hoping we could get the car to default to 194 degrees since it wasn't getting a reading, didn't do that though.

hopefully get everything sorted out in the next couple weeks

Totally agree! Beef still has more too, more than JPC time will tell... Love seeing these cars make power and put it to the ground!

Ohhhh shit. Think you have enough injector and pump left for that fuel?

Either way CPR has a lot to say with no kits doing the times JPC or beefcake are doing. JPC is on top for now and turbo's do make more power, but until last week never had the track times to show it.
It has never been about anyones kits. I said turbos were slow to start but they would eventually pass blowers. That has always been the debate. Guys like you bring other things up. Glad to see you sobered up though.
