Yeah. I did the vacuum cap..... After I killed most of the fluid. This is my first ford since a 53 pickup with a flat head.
Up, hell.... Already made a run,ate breakfast blah blah blah

Got to look at an 09 mustang this morning for a friend then back to hammering a tranny. Ha!

Need another hand and all my friends have been allocated with their families today. Mines out of town. So I have been watching cartoons and drinking jack.

My piece of advice for this post; on jack stands, you will need an extra hand with no trans lift. I just got done trying solo. "Where's my jack Daniels "

How much fluid?

It takes right at a gallon of ATF. You fill it until it starts oozing out of the fill hole, then stuff the plug back in it.

Also, you're going to want to get an extra gallon of fluid to swap it out after ~500 miles. You don't want the break-in metal shavings circulating your nice new transmission.

I take it you got it all stabbed in since you're asking about how much fluid?? :rockon:

Will be this afternoon at work all day. I got 4qt, need to grab some more.

Btw, I LOVE this trans.. it takes a lickin and begs for more. I made a total of 12 passes at the track yesterday with 10 of them being on the nitrous. No issues at all. Here's a video racing my buddy Chris(mastwolf).

Trans is in. But given zero instruction.... X member brace. Which side is up.

Second is speedo box will be here tomorrow. That said, again zero instruction on wiring this thing. What's what? And for the price it should be pig tailed connector for extensions on harness.

PM your email and or cell phone and I can forward you instructions for speedo box. Who's box do you have?

It will come with a pig tail and you'll need to wire in the harness to it as well as the pigtail.

The Trans crossmember only goes one way. The flat part goes on bottom. The ridge will be touching transmission mount.

The box is a universal signal converter so it's not going to be setup for you. I agree. It would be nice if it had plugs to connect it.

So with all the $ you get to cut the harness up. Lame as Sh!t.

It's just the 3 wire speedo pigtail that needs to be cut. There's plenty of room on harness so you can revert back if you need to.

I'll forward you the email on the speedo box. The instructions aren't the best but they were good enough for me to figure out the rest.

Am I the only one that cares to have cruise control? If I cant get the cruise to work, Im gonna pull this thing out and go with a 6r80.

Any problems pulling the stock trans and re-installing the new Tremec from under the car? Someone told me the engine has to come out as well, but I find that hard to believe. Wanted to hear from someone who has done it already.

Mine works in 6th gear, that's good enough for now. I'll worry about the other gears later on.

Any problems pulling the stock trans and re-installing the new Tremec from under the car? Someone told me the engine has to come out as well, but I find that hard to believe. Wanted to hear from someone who has done it already.

No, engine doesn't come out. I did my swap in my garage with the car on jackstands. It sucked, but I could do it again in 1/3 the time now that I've done it once.

Same with what Justin said. There are tricks to doing it on jack stands in this thread. Idk about my cruise till mines done. But yes, I require cruise to work
