What replacement headlights?

The black inside my factory headlights is starting to peel away from the lens. Plus I have small foggy distortion circles appearing in a couple of places. What headlights do you guys recommend? I am not a fan of the halo type and I really like factory ones but I cannot find them and our local dealer only has the regular 2004 Mustang ones. I don't know how much a difference they are.

I appreciate your ideas.

You can get factory replacements or reproductions (much cheaper but they look identical) from Americanmuscle.com. They even come with headlight bulbs installed.

AM has the best aftermarket headlight housings in terms of fitment, quality, and the price IMO. Just make sure you seal them with a bead of silicone and they will last and look good for a long time. Had mine for 3 years and no oxidation or condensation (though they have seen the upmost care in the 3 years)

I say if you're going to buy repo's get them from AM. I bought a set from Ebay
and while they look great the light output sucks on one of them. Its not a clear pattern, kind of more scattered. I took them back off and polished my factory ones. The AM ones might be the exact same ones as sold on Ebay but I've dealt with AM enough to know that if I bought some from them and weren't happy with them they'd make it right in a heartbeat.

I bought OEM replacements from latemodelrestoration.com about 3 years ago and they've held up really nice. I will buy again when the time comes.

Thanks everyone. I have thought about taking mine apart and trying to reaffix the black edging. May be a project for the winter.

The fitment from the AMs were good, but there adjustments are horrible and the light that they project don't seem clean? but they look good during the day. I've had mine for over 2 years no fogging or fading yet, but my cars stay in a garage and don't see bad weather unless I get caught in it.

I bought OEM replacements from Tousley Ford (vendor on here), put them on the wife's '99GT and they look great.

Need to buy a set for the Cobra now, they are starting to get a little dull, after 11 years.

Call Steve at Tousley, um Autonation Ford Bear Lake.

I got mine from Steve also. They lowered the price a few years ago because they were "crash" parts or something like that. People need them when they crash so there is a high demand. I think I got them for like 160 for the pair.
Not sure if they still have them in stock. I should have bought 3 of everything. I could make a killing on all these parts that are outrageously expensive because they are discontinued!

I purchased an extra set from Ford for this same reason. My factory ones are holding up pretty good so far. Still have the extra set in the boxes.

I think you will be fine with any of these companies everyone has recommended.

I have two cars here with headlights from AM. Both have the clear coat or whatever peeling off the outside. The owners are planning to call AM about replacements, so we will see what happens.
