Looking for a Good All Around Tire

I'm not looking for the best grip or best performing tire out there. I'm looking for just a good tire to put on the back of my Cobra that will last and not screw up. I like the looks of the directional tires and would like to get something similar to those. In 2009 or 2008 I bought Goodyear GSD3's for the back. I liked the looks of them and felt they were made by a great tire company so I bought them, but over the years the tires wore abnormally. The inside right tire is showing the belt in one area with the rest of the tire looking good to decent with tread life left and the left tire is looking pretty good all around. I had no clue the belt was showing on that tire until one night pulling up in the garage (in a different car) and that particular area just happened to be showing on my parked Cobra. So I'm looking at getting something else this time around. I would like to save as much money as I can as well. Any opinions out there on what would be a good tire for me?

Check out the Nitto Invo's. I've been running them for almost a year now and I still love them. Ride great and actually hook up really well for a street tire too. I don't do burnouts or anything on them but mine have lasted very nicely so far.

I put the firestone wide oval firehawks indy 500 or something like that on. They seem pretty decent need a tire now and couldn't get anything else at the time had nt-05s on back before they were good didn't last as long as I'd like but did have. 5 passes at strip with them.

I had 325 Invo's on my '06Z and put over 15k miles on them in a year, they were perfect for the street. Great grip on dry or wet pavement and not afraid of a corner either. I bought the car with the tires already on and mildly worn, then sold it after 15k miles and 1.5 years with about 30% tread left.

Im fond of the bfg kdw's. Great tire as long as your not north of 525 to the wheels, and are not expecting to hook hard from dig.

Thanks for the responses so far guys. Those are all good choices for sure. I'm really liking the Invos, I forgot all about those. My is close to stock so I'm not really worried about hooking up. I'm really looking for tread life and all around good tire that looks good in the process.

The car had bfgoodrich g-force sport when I bought it. They had 5,000 miles and still looked like a new tire. I changed just the back but I wanted something that would hook more. But if I was close to stock I would've kept them on. Seem like a nice tire

Hands down Toyo R888, great grip and they'll do 80 in the rain no problem.

The R888 tread life is extremely low.

I am running NT-05 (non DR). Expected life is around 10K... and they hold well. Don't expect a dead hook in first, but they do hold very well, and feel extremely stable for handling, braking, ect

I just put street tires on the back of mine for the first time in two yrs. I wanted something that would last and wasn't particularly worried about traction. I chose the bfg kdw2 front and rear. With 720rwhp it's ALOT of fun on the street! Lol
But they should def last longer than drag radials!

Yeah, I'm not looking for drag radials, I don't need that kind of traction. I would like long tread life with a good looking tire.

Right now I'm running 275/40's out back with, if I remember correctly 56mm spacers. Could you fit 285/40's without running into any problems? Just curious, I most likely will just go with 275/40's again since they are nice and flush with the fender. I'm still on the stock 17's.

Well I have it down to the Nitto 555's and the Yokohama S Drives with the the S Drives seeming to be the ones I might go with. KDW's are on a national back order, Michelin offers one kind of tire that apparently has gold laced in them somewhere. I like the Invo's but it doesn't seem they make them for 17's.

The only other tire out there that I can think of are Toyo's but not sure if that is a good one to go with. I was looking at the Toyo Proxes, anyone have those? I did a search for my car though and the only ones showing that fit my car are the R1R's which seem to be more drag redials. I was looking at the Proxes T1r's.

Look into Yokohama S-drives

I agree. Not the best tire in any category, but good at everything and the best for your money.
