Looks like I'll be sticking with 305/35/18's, as my rear rims are 18x10's. I'm not sure how much life I actually have left on my nitto drag radials, there down to the wear bars. Not to happy how long these have lasted, roughly 4k miles so far and zero burnouts or track use.

Tread depot has them for 321 each, and tiresdirect is 317.98. Anyone know other places to check?

John @ CCW priced my 305/35/18's for 325.00. I decided to get the tires from him & mounted by him, less chance of damaging a wheel. Not sure where he's getting them so the prices you mentioned aren't that out of line. I've got the 888's on my Shelby & really like them.

I have 315 on a 10.5 inch rim, and they bulge a lot. Bulge as much as my old tires which were 335. I'll snap a few pics for you guys. BTW I love these tires, soon as they are warm they hook. And really awesome in the rain.

There is no comparison in size for a 305/35 nitto 555r and the same size r888. An r888 in that size on a 10" rim is going to look gi-normous

I really wish nitto would stop producing such ridiculously small tires for their size spec in that 555r model....does nothing but confuse people

Does it have to be an R888? If you arent putting track time on them, it might be more viable to run an agressive street tire like an NT05.

Well it's street only, but I'd like to get some life out of them too. Seems there's people that are getting some miles out of R888. Not sure about miles on the NT05?

So another question then, since some say even the 305 R888 will bulge a lot on a 10 inch rim, am I better off going with there 295/30/18's? Or will that look silly? Those are only around 248.98 per tire. I'm worried how the 30 series would look.

Just put 315/30/18 R888 on my classics (18x11) fits perfect ! I was worried about 30 series sidewall being to small but once it was mounted its actual kind of think a lot thicker then I expected. You'll love the r888

Anybody run the nt05 and the r888 and care to give a review?

+1, I'd like to know how much a difference there is? I know the price is a huge difference. Although with the NT05 I'd have to run a 295/35/18 it looks like.

One thing I notice on these tire sizing threads is most of the first concerns are the tire widths. Which is good. But what a lot of people seem to neglect is the tire height. Far too many times I see combos pieced together with front tires that are actually taller than the rears! It gives the car a reverse rake appearance, not to mention its actually the rear that really needs some sidewall to absorb the tq these motors throw at them. Last thing you want is a rubber band on the rear....while the fronts have a huge sidewall creating all kinds of unnecessary resistance and weight where you least want it.

I'm not advocating a pro stock look...but at the very least the rear should be at least as tall to the fronts. I think optimum is a rear tire about 1/2" taller than the front. Sometimes thats difficult to do with the tire choices available, especially wide 18s....but there's no way I'd run an overall taller, larger sidewall front than the rear.

It's hard to find a 315/35/18 in anything so I run 30 in rear and 35 in front, I agree it does look like a reverse rake at times. I think my 18x11 rears make it look even more dramatic too.
