hi everybody!
as promise i am converting my 11 gt manual car to an automatic so take a look and give me your advice
thank !!

first you need:
transmission 6R80
the transmission wire (it goes from ecm to alternator batterie, power steering)
auto ecm
torque converter (hold by 4 bolt M10*1)
flexplate (bolts to crank shaft are shorter on auto)
the shield plate between trans and motor (opening for torquefor now bolt)
console is the same
auto shifter
top console, chrome bezel mabe fit (but not sure )
the wire is already inside console for plugging shifter electric
brake pedal i think it is optional...
the vacuum on intake have 1 more in on the inlet i think it is not an issue..
plug the master cylinder outlet for clutch
drive shaft is the same
trans cooler+lines

i have alot of pictures give me some time to put in order and if someone know how to make them live on this site feel free to mail me
thank
this is the steps i follow
disconnect batt
remove drive shaft
remove driver cath (passenger frame bolt is hard to get so you can leave on place) +h pipe
disconnect clutch line +wire on trans +cats
remove top console + shifter
remove intake cover (not boss) trans support 4 bolts on frame let engine go down remove 7 engine bolt to trans
pull out trans
remove pressure plate, ring gear
if you have a puller remove pillow bearing cranck shaft if not just grind it off
remove trans wire (alt, power steering, grounds ,+ batt, connector to front harness, ac...)
installation
install trans wire
put grease on torque center pin(where it sit on crank) and on 2 center pin(eng)
install shield plate(auto)
install trans reverse as you did before
plug everything wire on trans cats...
install cooling lines you need a special tool for quick connect
remove lower valence, grill, move a bit ac cooler install trans cooler in front eng rad secure all parts
remove computer replug all connector
bolt auto shifter and wire (wire are already in manual car plug in)
change brake pedal (optional)
change vacuum intake (optional???)
plug batteries

i was not present when ford tech did this steps....
download your car vin inside new eec and strategy 2 code from trans (all this with ids from dealer)
program keys
fire up !
do a crank relearn

according to specialist if you take the eec from a used car you need to disable the pats to be validate...

to program abs follow https://www.svtperformance.com/forums/threads/re-program-abs-module-after-mt82-to-6r80.1136513/

some guy report abs wont program on 11-12 with a 13-14 abs strategy because instrument cluster is not same to be validate....

If you dont have trans strategy and solenoid body id sticker on the side of trans.. you dont need to buy an other body valve .. i try a way to found this missing body selenoid id number...i dont say it will work for you or easy.. but with ids and trans connector unplug under car at trans connector... i have been able to get solenoid body id just by entering solenoid strategy 13 digits engrave on the bodyvalve under trans pan...

select shift on 11-12 car
has been done by a member here DNT H8
thank for his pictures and knowledge

you need to add wires to console until pcm there is missin 3 wires signal upshift downshift

The white wire from the **** is for shift up and will go to pin 23 on connector C175B on the PCM.
The brown one is for shift down and goes to pin 24 on the PCM C175B.
The black wire is signal return and goes to pin 56 on the PCM C175B.

Your welcome bob450, I hope I've been helpful. You can use the chrome auto bezel, but you have to cut the chrome manual bezel off. You can do it by melting the small tabs holding it on.

I'm also in the process of doing this. I have all my parts, just gotta get the time to do it. Here's what I've paid for all my parts.

$2200 shipped ($1800 for parts and $400 for shipping) for the 6r80, crossmember, flexplate, coverter, spacer plate, inspection plate, shifter, shifter cable, chrome shifter bezel, trans cooler, cooler lines, and some hardware. I got these parts from duece212 (a very good seller, wouldn't hesitate to buy from him again).

The rest of the parts I got from my local Ford dealer at a discounted rate. These prices include NC tax that I paid. The prices aren't as good as Tousley, but they are close after paying for shipping.

$645 for the auto PCM part# BR3Z-12A650-AFH, this includes the $100 core charge.

$216 for the battery cable part# BR3Z-14300-BB. This part# is for the cars built before 4/10. I know it sounds strange to buy a battery cable, but the trans harness is built into it.

$56 for the brake pedal (premium model) part# DR3Z-2455-E and the "must replace" bushing part# 3M5Z-2L523-AA

$65 for the leather shifter. Duece212's was a base model car so I wanted to upgrade to the leather handle.

Still gotta get around $100 in trans fluid and get the new PCM programmed which should be free since I have a friend of a friend.

how long did the swap take?
did you get a completly new computer?

how long ... well i was alone no trans jack and -6 degres only a lift and a fix home made table..removing the manual trans easy changing the harness the push pins are extremely hard to remove soft pan eng steel was binding before to be remove routing the trans line cooler was difficult i dont have schema moving ac rad is a pain .. cant tell exact time i did it on one week end part time and it is not over yet so hard to calculate time

for computer i am not a geek but physiquely they are the same the harness is divided in 3 sections trans, cowl, engine. when i ask this question on this forum according to shaun from aed it seems the manual computer dont have the module to operate trans so that is why i change computer.

http://www.svtperformance.com/forums/2011-2014-mustangs-354/909853-6r80-getrag.html

you need to re-program key i am at this step

Thanks for the info. I had a 2011 manual that I traded for an auto and now I wouldn't mind swapping back to a manual trans.

Anyone in Chicagoland want to swap? LOL

I would have rather done a tremec. If you have to trade the car or sell it. The value will take a big hit.

tremec is about twice the price with all the hardware around 5000$

http://www.jpcracing.com/tremec-mag...-includes-driveshaft-clutch-flywheel-options/

i think my car value is the same because it is not home made it is like from factory you canot see matter (original cooler line harness.....) when i order my car i took it manual because it was 2000$ cheaper and very rare.... my mt82 has been change one time bearing noise 1-2 grind and freshly rebuild a second time the 5 wont engage so i think an intelligent buyer will pay more to avoid problems and let me telling you something when i started to looking for a trade before doing this mod ford seller buyer are aware of this shitti trans and would not give me alot of money for trading my car so ... my cheaper alternative was do the job myself:lol::beer::dancenana::dancenana::dancenana:

Im just saying if you trade it. Dealers will bang you. To me unless your a hardcore drag racer its a waste of time. I think auto and picture my gf driving the car. I have seen people do stuff like this before. It just creates issues sometimes if there is a problem.

I would have saved up for the tremec. None the less cool task to take on yourself.
