What exhaust are you running?
Great write up!! I can wait to order mine.

Thanks! As for the exhaust, I'm running a Lethal Performance Off-Road H pipe and Flowmaster American Thunder axel-backs, eveything else is stock.

Are dailying your car?
Great numbers!! I'm trying to decide on what kit I want for my daily auto.

Not really, I'm alot more inclined to drive it to work during the summer (I work overnight shifts, so not worried about it sitting out backing in the sun all day) when the weather is nice, but I don't drive it much during the winter. I will say though, that I wouldn't hesitate in the least to daily this car if need be, the kit is solid and won't leave you stranded anywhere (provided you upgrade that terrible overflow tank so it doesn't explode on you at some point like has been known to happen).

great review!

i had the same issues as you did overall. i didnt turn the lower radiator hose around and was able to get the piping all done. it sucked, but it worked. then the JLT shroud fit in there decent enough to screw down and not sit on top of the hose.

im still thinking about going down to 3.27 gears as i was able to break lose in 4th gear at 70mph with 315 NT05s and 3.73s on a cold night once i hit boost. its pretty scary...lol. but i want to drive it around more in the summer when it warms up since it doesnt bother me to shift a little more. although, once i hit the track, i may be sold on taller gears...

did you go with the stock pulley? i went with the 3.33" myself. i plan on getting around 650rwhp or so. looking forward to see what your next dyno pull says.

That's the exact exhaust set-up I'm running. I have tried stock mufflers, Bassan race, GT500's, old style square Flowmaster American Thunder and now the NEW Flowmaster American Thunder 409 stainless steel version which are little smaller and rounder in size but sound AMAZING!!! I hope to do a video tomorrow if weather permits.
Did you do the install in your driveway on jack stands? That's how I will be doing it. How much boost are you seeing?

We did the install in his garage. He tackled the H-pipe install, the Fan shroud and radiator hoses while I mounted the blower, intercooler, andBOV, and some of the charge pipes.

Yeah, I went with the stock 3.8" pulley, I had purchased a 3.6" with the kit, but chose to stay base just to be sure the head unit was in good working condition under warrenty before I stepped down in size. I'd think you would be able to see 650 whp SAE corrected without stepping down that far in size, but I'll hold off on that until I see how close to 600 the base pulley can put me!

We installed it in my garage on jack stands, it's not bad at all. As for boost, I'm seeing 7.5 lbs with the open element filter, but thats also partially due to the cold weather. Anxious to see what it's like during the summer lol.

This thread needs more Paxton videos!

Haha, yeah it does...I have a couple upcoming races with some 600+ whp STi's, and a '13 GT500 if he ever stops being a stick in the mud about it. Unfortunately, working nights means I get to go out alot less than I'd like, at least when the roads are free of traffic. I should have Saturday night off and, weather permitting, I should get a run with one of the Subarus. I'll be posting a bunch of track and street vids this summer, so stay tuned haha.

Not to thread jack, but I installed my kit this weekend with the paxton directions your helpful tips and the great customer service of beefcake, the install went pretty good. Can't say enough about beefcake, I sent him a text on sunday around 11ish and he called me back within 20mins and walked me thru my issue. Anyone buying this kit you can't go wrong with a beefcake special, and take your time. I would recommend working on it over a three day period. Just Saturday and Sunday I fell burned out.

But I bet you felt a lot better when you started it for the first time and then went for a drive.

I also wanting to do the Paxton setup and I wanted to know what psi you are running at with the 3.8 pulley up here in Colorado (im in the springs at 6500ft)? And I'm also looking to make 650hp~ corrected as well running on e85.

Day 1 of my Paxton install. I knew since I have the track pack that I would be fighting the boss oil cooler, but I think I figured out a good way to relocate it. I DID discover today that because the track pack radiator is bigger, there is no way I'm getting that fan back in there after installing the Paxton head unit. It's all going to be a very tight fit.

I was at 6.5-7 psi make a hair over 600 to the wheels SAE in Eastern Colorado (6000 ft).

I'm running 7.5 psi currently on the 3.8 pulley, and getting a real dyno run in on Saturday, so I can post up the numbers then. I maxed out the 47's though, so I need to step up to ID1000s to make better power this summer. As for hitting 650 corrected, you'll get close on the 1000's and a good tune with the 3.8 I'd imagine, if not, step down to the 3.6 and I'm sure you'll hit it. Now, with E85 and a good tune, you can drop pulley size further and hit over 700 wheel SAE corrected I'd imagine. This summer I'll be finding out just how high I can take this kit, might drop to a 3.33 pulley for corn and look for 750+ if I'm lucky lol.

750 on the stock internals? I don't know about that, is that safe if we run e85?. Id be afraid to take it that high. But yeah i was thinking about using the 3.47 pulley and e85. If i can get to 650~80 id be happy.

up here 750SAE is more like 600 actual whp. We have guys making near 800whp SAE p here in E85, but that's closer to 650 actual HP. We live in a different world up here at altitude.

Good to know, i have heard someone bending a rod up here but i dont know what kind of power he was putting down.

Man im buying this kit (beefcake Paxton kit) next Friday, I keep bouncing from pulley to pulley. I think im going to stick with the 3.47.

Nocturnal5.0 put down 630/500 on the base kit with 47's and pump gas. Slagburn bent a rod but that was around 640whp but that was likely tune related or just a weak rod. There are several people making 660-700whp SAE on pump 91 up here.

No way was that tune related, probably not a weak rod either. More likely it was metal fatigue as that car had more boosted miles than any other I've seen on this forum.
