My 2013 GT500 made its way to my garage today. (One pic to follow and more after that) I had originally had my name on a black stripe delete, but after some minor stroking around by that dealer, all it took was another local dealer to offer me the Deep Impact Blue (with white stripes) gem on his showroom floor for MSRP and I was no match for temptation. I have been lurking for a while here an trying to get a feel for the personality of this forum and felt that if I didn’t actually own a car, my comments wouldn’t be as valuable as having one in the driveway.

Rightfully so......

I had a 2004 Cobra for a couple of years and moved from that into the diesel truck world. That was where I learned some forum etiquette. Don’t say stuff merely for the cause of saying it, search before asking, and have fun.

My plans are to do some cosmetic mods and after a couple miles, get into the motor a little with some tuning and supercharger mods.

I had to drive it home this morning, snap one pic, and fly to work.......total crap if you ask me but I gotta pay for the beast. Pics are imminent.

Question for the community:

To be able to complete all the modding on my truck I added on to the garage and installed the two post lift that is shown in the pic. I very sure this lift will be put to good use on my new pride and joy. My thoughts were to put the car up in the air for storage and will allow the wife to slider her hoopty underneath. My only concern is will being lifted cause the body to tweak unfavorable-ably if I were to leave it up there for an extended period if time??

I was thinking about placing the pads as close to locations where the suspension ties into the unibody which would be the least likely place to cause damage. I would think that lifting at the pinch welds would eventually lead to the panel gaps getting out of wack.

Congrats, very good looking car! What options?

Thank you.

I think all of them besides the glass roof..

I may have my local sign shop do up some matte black stripes soon. No definite plans yet.

Sorry about no avatar yet. Gotta get my vanity plate from DMV and get all BirdDoc about it. Lol

Here's my last creation

I think Devious Snake might understand that plate........if I interpreted his avatar properly.

Congrats on your 2013!! Great color! Get some experience behind the wheel and drive some miles before you start doing engine mods. You may find that 662 HP is more than enough to deal with for a while! This thing is a torque monster and has mind-boggling speed. I too had a 03 Terminator, and then moved to a 2007 then an 11 and now the 13. This may be the last big horsepower Shelby we will see for a while. Be glad you got one!

Ok....so I was fortunate enough to have a pleasant break in the winter weather here in the northeast. It was warm for few days and some rain got the roads in somewhat decent shape to take my new pride and joy out for a ride. Today's weather, clear and sunny, only drawback was it was 31 degrees. I couldn't help it, my car just sat there in my garage with 5.2 miles taunting my every thought. I only made 19 trips to the garage for every made up reason I could think of until it hit me.....I have a LL Bean gift card that MUST be expended before the spring inventory gets deployed and I'm stuck with kacki summer weight pants and sweaters. All the man stuff will be packed away until next year. The wife concurred and I darted to the garage clinching said 50.00 gift card in one hand and not so pure motives on my mind.

The result........a pair of forest tan Gore-Tex hikers and my cars FIRST OFFICIAL KILL.

The story..

After leaving Five Guys Burgers and Fries I was perched at a stoplight staring down the stretch of road the was two lanes for about 1/3 mile until it merged into one lane. At the light next to me, my competition, both of us staring at the end result.......first one to the merge, wins the prize. The lane, and his choice of speed to continue on at from that point on.

The crossing traffics light turns red and its down to mere seconds until the better car would emerge. The light turns green and its on. The roads are very cold and the Goodyears are not in their element by any means. My competition is right beside me. First gear, the tires are struggling for traction and start to spin, my honor is saved by the Stabili-Trak which brings the rear end back behind the front tires. I grab second, my competition is still at my front fender and he's grinning at me. The tires again are breaking loose and relying on the Stabili-Trak to make things right, only this time the correction is slightly more violent.

I hit third and the lane divider lines are starting to disappear indicating that the end is near. My competition is not letting up and my cars reputation is on the line. Third gear has resulted in a more substantial spin and an even greater correction by the Stabili-Trak. This activation was quite violent and the car shifted from side to side at it corrected itself and lurched ahead of the clear looser in this match up. I won the lane and retained the glory of the Shelby name.

The driver of that 2005 ish Mazda MPV minivan will think twice before he pits his machine and his family of five up against a 2013 GT500.

I got 85 miles on it and a glorious kill story. GOODYEARS EFFIN ROCK!!!

Congrats! I've been looking at lifted super duties. How did you like it? Did it get old? Is it better to buy one already done up?

Congrats bro! That story had me dying....

I am pretty drained from work tonight, I see the badge on the left but I am sitting here trying to figure out the FILE part...not sure if the 01 signifies *one ass to risk*

Either way congrats on the car man, enjoy it!

I absolutely loved the truck. I would recommend doing it your self as I did. I learned so much from driveline engineering and angles and a ton of other aspects that made me love the truck even more. Just recently sold it because I wanted the Shelby. Any idiot can hack together a lift but getting it right is a whole other story.

Hard to believe that that 9600 lb monster on 38" tires ran 12.87 in the quarter mile. At that speed you better have it built right. Nothing but good came from that truck including some great tools and a vehicle lift that makes the car easier to work on.

I was interpreting the color combination behind the cobra in your avatar as the commonly seen thin blue line, guess I should have related it to the color of your ride.

I'm a boob

File01 is the National Crime Information Center code for a Stolen Motor Vehicle.

No you interpret the blue line correctly, I don't go into dispatch that often ( we are not allowed) so some of the codes used in NCIC don't matter to me. I just send them the entries and they do it :lol1:
