Luckily it was already dead but I was stuck between 2 cars on the highway and couldn't switch lanes to avoid it.

Ouch! At least it doesn't look like the damage was TOO bad, OP...

At least the dog was dead already when you hit it--It would have been hard for me to have hit the dog and know that I was the one that killed it...:(

I'm a dog owner but I will admit I wouldn't feel bad if I hit most dogs unless I'm in a car that would get really damaged. Most dogs play in the street and aren't smart enough to get out of the way, so I don't feel bad. I'm also the kind of driver that tries really hard not to hit animals crossing the street because most of them are hauling balls because they know the danger that cars present.

^Ummmm i think it's more of a panicked run than "knowing" the danger cars present. They're in an unfamiliar environment and are confused.

Retarded post of the year so far. Yes dogs like play in the street :rollseyes just like kids do, and therefore they should be hit by a car. Did it ever occur to you that there are crappy irresponsible pet owners like yourself that let them get out? Do you think they know they are in the street? You have no clue what you are talking about.

Never fun hitting anything. I hit a dog once (it ran off into the woods and hopefully lived) and it bothered me a lot. Thankfully the damage wasn't too severe. Are you going to have to pay out of pocket for the repair? Seeing that it doesn't look too bad.

Its a good thing its not very long into the year then, so it'll get passed up. :lol1:
I've never had any of my pets hit by vehicles and my dog knows not to leave the yard even if I leave the gate open. She knows her boundaries and respects them. Do deer get hit by cars? Yes? Do they play in the street? No. They're usually hauling full speed to get from one side to the other because they know 4000Lbs of steel moving at high speeds is bad news. Even Wayne and Garth knew when it was ok to play in the street.

I agree ban the Mustang, or cars in general because I remember an ex-girlfriend telling me she hit a few squirrels in her Civic before.
