Picked up a set of 05-09 Roush RR03's, 18x10 all around . 295 in back 275 up front. Only reason why I'm attempting to retrofit these wheels on my 01 gt is because I got them for such a steal and they look soooo clean... Only problem is the front tires rub the strut slightly even with those crappy 5/16 or 3/16 disk spacers (didn't measure but they're thin and came with wheels). Due to the more drastic offset on the 05-09 wheels would a 1 inch spacer fix my problem? They would sit perfectly flush to wheel well with 1 inch spacer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Those wheels are not only the wrong offset, but way too wide for the front of an SN95. You'll still have rubbing issues if you move them out 1". And a 1" spacer on the front is a big risk, even if you go to stronger studs before mounting them. I'd personally never do it.

Just because they were a good deal doesn't mean you should force them to work. I'd suggest selling them at a profit if they were such a good deal and find some wheels with the correct offset.

Why is a 1" spacer a risk? A spacer does nothing more than move the wheel out to the desired location. No load is actually beared on the spacer once the wheel is tightened down. As long as you have studs long enough to accommodate the spacer and they are torqued correctly there are no problems with spacers.

sorry LilRoush it seems you're a little ticked off roush wheels are going on a non roush mustang. BTW can't take anything you say seriously with a spoiler like that. A 1 inch spacer in the front is not dangerous at all. I simply asked if a 1 inch spacer would make 10 inch wheels work, not a response with attitude and your opinions on what I should do with the wheels. Appreciate the help KLeech.

R2Kool4u - It's not the tire width that is the issue, it's the offset and width of the rim that creates the problem.

Um, ok???? Nothing I said has anything to do with my opinion of Roush wheels on a non-Roush car. I own a non-Roush vehicle with Roush wheels.
And why does a track wing on a track car make my information bad??
Talk about issues.

My statement stands.

Load is put on the spacer's studs, and moving the wheel out 1" will put extra load on the stock studs in the hub. (It's called geometry, and I understand how it works when you move a fulcrum.) You'd need to get stronger studs to replace the stock ones, and even then you'll still have rubbing issues when you turn with the offset the S197 Roush wheels have. It has been tried.

Sorry you don't like the answer to your question. That part isn't my problem.

The wheel issue aside, I've run 1 inch and 1.5 inch spacers on misc vehicles that I've autocrossed, just make sure oyu buy decent ones like those from Eibach.

they are the spacers with 5 holes and 5 new lug bolts. Not the spacers that shorten the bolt on you.

Yes, those are the better of the two styles, but my point still holds true.
At the point you get the 18x10 out far enough to not hit the inner suspension parts, it will be sticking out of the wheel well.

They'll fit. I had 275 wide up front on 18x9s. Didn't look right but a 18x10 would. Well... they will fit on the stock suspension. If you are lowered you might need to get creative. Ppl who run legit Cobra R rims (18x9.5) up front go 265 wide.

Personally my opinion is buy some damn wheels that fit right, then you don't have to deal with the spacer bullcrap and "making" them fit. Anything can "be done" sometime things shouldn't be though.

A 275 on a 9" rim will fit fine (assuming you have the right offset). The same tire on a 10" rim won't fit right. The physical width of the rim will hit (instead of the tire rubbing like most SN95 guys are having issues with). If you move the rim out far enough via a spacer, the rim will be sitting outside the fender.

Without some serious suspension mods, an 18x10 inch rim won't fit under the front of these cars.

Here's an SN95 that runs a 10" wide front. Note how TR uses a wider fender to accomidate that width wheel up front:

Well the Cobra R 18x9.5s fit just fine up front in SN95s. I think its all in the backspacing honestly.

Check the autocross/HPDE section. Look for carlos aka racebronco2 Im pretty sure he runs 18x10's on 275's up front on his '03 cobra.

He's also running an Agent 47 front suspension which isn't even close to stock - and allows much more space for a wide wheel.

I'm doing either MM or Griggs when I do my front. I know MM is going to stick like glue but just knowing wtf an SLA setup is and how it works makes me want to get one of those. So expensive tho... The MM front is $1700 for everything which is not cheap but you get what you pay for and the K member is about the last thing one should EVER cheap out on. I've seen pics of some of the other brands breaking, even the GMS ripoff of the MM K member. GMS ought to be shot...

Right now I'm running on tokicos and bbk springs on a stock setup and I really don't have the best ride in the world. At least I don't have that 4x4 stance though.

I've been sold on the IRS with the fulltiltboogie kit out back.
