Although the Tsunami ended the color production for 2012. The color has been offered on the Mustang since 2010 and even offered on 2013's. There might be a low number of cars this color for 2012 but 4 years of production doesn't make the color rare.

Although it has been made for 4 years its one of the rarer colors for that timeframe. Its not how long it was made but how many. Only 8% were made in 11. Probably less in 12 and 13 as well and color is being discontinued by ford and going to ruby red like the taurus and explorer are ford 13. You dont see red candy everyday. I agree its a fairly rare color. Not as rare as the much desirable yellow blaze i love but still rare. Mine is laser red and i still to this day cant find how many laser red convertibles were made! :shrug:

My car however was the only year they made the color, maybe 1K cars total (605 GT's). That's a rare color.

its rarity in 12 is due to the tsunami.

and lava red might not be as rare as yellow blaze though. it was like .86% or something absurd. all in all find me an 08/09 dark candy apple red gt vert with chamois interior and then we talk about rare
