son has few issues with ticket

my son recieved a ticket a approx. 5 or 6 years ago .so he keeps getting a warrant popping up for failure to appear .here is the problem the cop that issued the ticket wrote for him to appear in court on february 30th. okkkkkkkkkk. still waiting for that date to get on the calander. second problem now is the police department in that town shut down and does not exist. so what advise and who does he contact to resolve this. thanks

Contact the court that issued the warrant.

Court of issue or local sheriffs office as they usually hold warrants for entire county.

Yes, go to the court house and you might want to bring someone from the DA's office with you. They can be a huge help sometimes.

he should have taken care of it 4 or 5 years ago when he KNEW the date was wrong. when you do get to court make sure you tell the judge that the two of you were waiting for Feb 30th to roll around.

Check to see if that police department merged with another department. If so they may still have record of the ticket, the courts would be able to tell you this as well. If the date is marked incorrectly they can always change it.
