Just a few questions hopefully someone can answer for me, i was curious if running aviation or race fuel would do any harm to my engine without tuning the computer for it, and if so is it worth a few pony's?

I used to work at an airport and every once in a while I would splash some 100LL (low lead in it) but my O2s hated it. Race gas you can get unleaded but most all aviation fuel has lead.

The car will run the same with both but race gas you don't have to worry about your O2s going bad after a while.

the only benefit to high octane fuel is through tuning with more timing. period. without tuning, its a waste and take a toll on o2's

I actually picked up power without tuning BUT I have a supercharger and although I'm not adding timing it prevents the ECM from pulling timing out when I'm WOT at the track bcause of hoter AITs. So basically I'm getting the most out of my combo with it.

How is higher octane fuel lowering intake air temperature?

Let me rephrase that. Hot AITs cause detonation, which causes the ECM to pull timing bcause of the knock sensors in the intake valley, when you pull timing you lose HP.

Add race gas that Prevents detonation and the ECM dosnt pull timing and you get all the HP available in the car.

For proff I ran my car at Atco on pump 93 and ran 12.40-12.45s both with 2.05 60fts I then put 3 gallons of 110 VP race gas and ran again with no other changes and whent 12.14-12.17 again with 2.00-2.07 60fts. Also my MPH whent from 116 to 119

1bdsnk96, save your money. Aavaition fuel is meant for aircraft and race fuel is for high compression engines. Your car will gain no power with either one.
