Can I remove upper strut nut without impact?

Did you try some pb blaster or wd40 on there?

If you compress the spring enough, the strut mount goes down enough to get a wrench on the nut, and one on the top of the strut to get rid of the spin

only reason to take it off is to change the spring.. if youre changing the spring, get a compressor. I used an impact because it was much much faster

This nut is only on with like 50 lb-ft. Just take the strut out of the car, use a spring compressor, and take 2 wrenches to the top nut. See how the top of the strut has a hex pattern? Grab it with a wrench or socket, and use another wrench to turn off the top nut. Easy.
