11 weeks in the order system and still nothing...

I ordered my 13 Shelby GT500 on 06/13 from a very small dealer in Northern AL and received the DORA that same day. My order is still in order processing. I realize that quite a few who ordered before me are still either waiting to get their ride or waited up to 20 weeks before they got theirs. However, many others have ordered after me and have received a VIN and build date, got their car, or waited less time. The dealer Rep who covers North AL has not been any help to my dealer either. He just says that he has no idea when my order would be pulled. However, many on here were told what quarter and/or month it would be pulled by the Rep. Does anyone have any advice on how to speed things up or has a contact I can call?

Not that Ford cares, but the ordering for this car should be first order in/first order out with the exception being for an option/part that is on hold or back order. Not let's make some folks wait 20 weeks while others wait 8 to 10. Anyway...I digress.

as many others have mentioned in other threads, Deysha, under the username Ford Customer Service over on themustangsource.com in the 10-14 section is a true gem -- can't turn water into wine for ya, but damn near IMO

You can actually call Ford Cust service and open up a case with them and they will be able to get you a little more info but not much. I ordered mine on 5/3 and still haven't received my car. Patience, as much as it sucks to say it as I'm in the same waiting game boat.

Yeah I've PM'd her ever week or two along the way. All she has ever told me is that my car has not received a build date and to always check back with her the next week. Same with SVT. I don't guess she can really pull any strings for you, but rather just update you on the status of your car.

Yeah, folks like you impress me! I realize many have been waiting longer than me and you guys should definitely get your cars before I do. That's only fair. What ticks me off is folks getting their cars from orders entered after my order, or your order.

Can you PM me the dealer name as I've recently ordered one in northern Al and hope it isn't the same!

USV8PWR, I am sending you a PM. As you know, I had a contact who was able to help with my order. I asked him for his counterpart in your area of the country and he gave me the man's name. I will PM those details to you. Hopefully he is as nice and as helpful as my guy was.

I have never had to have so much patience in buying a car than what I am going through with this purchase. And, I have never spent so much time on the phone, internet, and emailing than I have had with this car. Its a whole new learning process in purchasing a car, something I have never been through before. You must have patience. I am still about 2 months out getting mine. I hope to have it by Halloween just in time to stick it in the garage for winter.

Can you imagine what the wait would be like if we had to depend solely on Ford for answers? Thank God for the internet and forums like this one..

I also ordered mine on 5/3, DORA the following day...still unscheduled. I've been calling Ford every Friday for updates. 2 weeks ago I filed a complaint and someone called me back a few days later to explain that they have a parts shortage and that was delaying my car. I asked why people with fully optioned cars that ordered after me were getting their cars then and he said he would have someone else call to explain it to me. I'm still waiting. I'm beginning to wonder if anyone at Ford really knows what the hell is going on. How can you possibly run a business this way? I fully agree with the OP that it should be first in first out, and if for some reason it isn't there should be a good explanation given.

This made me cry reading it tonight but I am happy for the OP in the link:

http://www.svtperformance.com/forums/2013-shelby-gt500-413/872274-got-my-vin-number.html

From the OP of the above post.
Actually I got a car that was ordered and the guy dropped out. So, I took his place and just changed the specs of the car. So, my car might of been "in the system" for a while.

Most of the people that are getting their cars quickly, are actually taking over previous orders, some that go back to Mar & Apr., there may be one or two people that knew someone on the inside and were able to have their orders fast tracked, but I haven't heard of them.

As far as Ford is concerned, we are all mushroom and as mushrooms we should be keep in the dark and fed BS.

It took me over 3 months to get any info. I ordered my car 5/3 and got my first bit of build dates and vin past week. Delivery date has been pushed back once already by one week so now I'm looking at 5 months for the car to show.

Oh well, my twin turbo car is almost done and will have about 300+ more hp and about 700+ lbs lighter so I'll have something fun to toy with while I wait. Glad I have other cars to drive in the mean time to ease the pain of waiting.

Thank you again Steve! I was busy at work this afternoon and did not get a chance to respond. I sent you another PM over there. I am having an issue with his email.
