Now I understand the frustration Terminator owners feel toward new 5.0L guys. Reminds me of the crap you used to read on Honda forums.

So you mean to tell me your stock 5.0 kept up with a gt500? If both are stock I might possibly believe this. for starters if the shelby was on the stock f1 tires he could have been fighting for traction. if he had the common pulley/tune and you are stock, Im calling BS. You compare the two cars by saying he has a power adder and not implying that you do as well, so I assume you are stock?

anyways the guy obviously has common sense to let off before getting hauled away in the back of a cruiser for street racing.

I have a story for you thinking the 5.0 is faster than the gt500

At a local 1/8 mile drag event. I raced a 5.0 GT/CS WITH a boss intake AND racestars and drag radials. I was just pulley/tune with 275 nitto nt555s in the rear. He pulled me by a fender out of the hole then I came around him with no problem on the big end. Beating him by about 2 cars at the line, and we raced twice, tried for a 3rd but he decided to leave after those 2 races. I was trapping 95mph in the 1/8th, no timing or scoring, just a true grudge match night. This was BEFORE all my LCA and Spring upgrades.

So in conclusion, either it was a kid out for a cruise in dads car that had no idea what he was doing or he was just simply fighting for traction. Either way, be careful man, no race is important enough to get arrested for, get hurt, or hurt someone else...

Wait, wait I thought 5.0 don't lose especially to 07-09 gt500.

Now that I think about the gt500 probably did a 5.0 engine swap that's why u lost.

they were probably both stock the shelby definatly wouldn't have a pulley. My brother has a 5.0 cs with frpp tune and when i was stock i barely beat him by inches when i have traction. It pisses alot of 5.0 owners off though that a simple $1000 pulley/intake/tune package will put them faster then almost all NA 5.0's from a roll

Yes, that was a typo. Thanks. when I went to the Ford lot, even the dealer told me to stay away from the 07 GT 500's. They can't hook, they can't handle, they can't brake. SMH ...03-04 Cobras get more respect.
Do yourself a favor and upgrade to the newer 500's. Hahaha keep cryin u puppies.

Sorry man but I still don't get how this is a race? After reading all your posts in this thread it seems you punched it when you were behind him. IF this is true, then that is not a race. Unless you were side by side with him and you both actually took off, you were just tailgating the guy and he was trying to put space between you.

yes its true the 5.0 does have much better traction(until a shelby gets real tires) and handling and braking (only if you get optional brembos, standard brakes are not better then the shelby). But on the other side the shelby makes more power/are faster with $1500 in mods then a 5.0 with $8000 in mods. (excluding nitrous on both cars.) also shelbys are not known to blow up cylinder number 8 like many coyotes. And then there is the infamous MT82 transmission problems. My bros MT82 blew up after 700 miles and now at 9000 miles its making sounds like he needs another one. Also the low compression forged internals of a shelby will always be able to take more abuse then the high compression weaker internals 5.0. So the way i see it if you like to stay stock the 5.0 is better. if you like to mod then you'll always be playing catch up to a shelby.

this kid has alot of room to talk. Why dont YOU upgrade. Im where i like to be. I'll enjoy the price of my car to increase while yours will continue to depreciate. You are the reason why most typical mustang owners have a bad name.

Before you post, why don't you read before you click post. I swear I should just stay on the gt500 forum. Isn't this a svt forum anywas?? I didn't know a base gt was an svt product??

It's sad that some new 5.0 guys turn out like yourself. I have been looking at getting a new one and I hope I don't turn into a douche canoe like you! Jk nice death I guess:shrug:
