Here in Huntspatch, AL local law enforcement has started using Laser to catch speeders. I know a couple of folks who had laser detectors that went off, informing them that they got caught.

The only effective way to avoid a speeding ticket versus laser is to not speed or get a laser jammer. There are several on the market. Here is a test that was done on some brands last year.

Seems like the Escort ZR3 is almost perfect for the job.
Coupled with a V1 for Radar and a Radar Jammer you
most likely won't see any tickets. I'm think'n of have'n
a custom done installation of all.

Dont forget about the eye in the sky.....using a stopwatch to get your speed, no laser or radar involved

That "eye in the sky" can be seen long enough in advance usually. Long as you spot him before you cross the first white line on the road. And, for him to see you to count, you can see him to react :)

lol do they still do that in areas? It costs about 2 grand operating costs per ticket, and they are not hard at all to fight.

I got hammered in Louisiana by a Bear in the Air, and fought it. I basically just ended up pleading guilty to a non-moving violation and making a donation to the Parish Sherrif's Ball Fund.

These Huntsville cops were set up in Cumming's Research Park(business park). They were busting hard working folks trying to get to work on time.

Basically, they had one cop leaning up against a light pole aiming the laser gun. I think the brand is Stalker. Any way he would target cars about .25miles away. When he verified their excessive speed, he would call to his buddies to stop the car. I heard reports of as many as 5 cars stopped at once.

They were getting a lot of 50mph in a 35mph zone type of tickets.

The only warning that was available was a quick blip of KA band radar followed by an all out Laser warning. But by that time it was too late.

Hardworking folks trying to get to work on time? Maybe those "hard working folks" need to work a little harder at leaving earlier for work. :rollseyes

Enjoy the laser jammers while you can. More and more places are making them illegal.

Chicago area State Police have gone from marked to cleverly unmarked cars in the last few years. Recently at a gas station I saw a Camaro with an NHRA sticker in the window that was an unmarked State Police car. I wonder how many Mustangs he's pulled over.
