Just a friendly race down in Mexico with some buddies. The guy viding in the sti actually setup the race. He had a Talon on 25 psi that I beat about 3-4 months ago, so he wanted to see how his buddies subaru would do. Description is in the first comment. The first video I've made so I didn't mess with editing or anything. Supposed to be running a 240x with a 2jz supra motor in it soon. Also ran a srt4 on 18 lbs the night before, but didn't get it on vid. Pulled bus lengths on srt4. First 3 runs are from the sti and last 2 are from cobra. Gave the sti the hit in the 2nd run. Enjoy.

Yeah, that's about the worst granny shiftng I've ever seen- including all the fast and the furious movies. Better watch out if he learns how to shift. Nice kill- half or more of a race depends on the driver, so good job. Seems in racing a lot of people take it for granted that a is car driven well without missing a shift or spinning the tires, so props to you

Mods for the STI are: GT35R turbo setup, full exhaust, 850 cc injectors, and when tuned on 18 lbs and no water/meth made 370whp.

Don't forget the missed shift as well....5k dump on the STI...

.wonder how many of those the Trans and axles will take before they break?

I heard a lot of those STIs had transmission issues straight from the factory- yeah, he's screwed! :burn:

Did you actually hear that from someone or did you just make it up? If you can provide some factual information to go with that I'm interested in seeing it.

The STi transmission and axles are beefy as hell and will absolutely take that abuse. I don't know if they will take crazy crazy high HP, but it will most certainly take 400whp abuse like a champ. I've personally seen several 400whp STi's make tons of track passes spinning all 4 wheels each launch and never had a problem.

400whp seems a bit low for a water/meth 35R setup. Good kill although his shifting has been well documented throughout this thread.

Spinning the tires is saving the parts. Not that they would break if it hooked, but the tires spinning is taking some stress off of those parts.
