Hey everyone,

It's been a while since I have ventured and posted on these boards! I have been contemplating for some time now getting back into a mustang, I have a GSXR 600 right now and as much as I love it, its not as much fun as cruising in a mustang.

I wanted to know what the market for notchback's is like these days. Let me know what you guys think of this as a project to start with and if its priced reasonably.

92 Notch

Thanks guys!

Its about 4-5k over priced. And could build it yourself for about 4k total including the purchase of the car.

I figured it was over priced, but 4-5K? Wow! Didn't expect that. Sounds like negociating isn't even worth it.

It is pretty hard to find a clean notch. So your saying that is a $4500 car? If you can find me one that clean for $4500 and fairly local, I will buy one.

Last coupe we bought was $250. If you can't make the car clean for a total of $4k you need to shop elsewhere for your parts. There are coupes on craigslist from time to time for $800-1000.

But I guess if you just want to buy something and are not willing to put the elbow grease in, then yeah you will pay dearly for it.

04yellowcobra, I like that, alot! But not the biggest fan of carbed motors. They make more power, right, but don't they require alot more upkeep then a FI motor?

My carb doesn't require any more upkeep than if I was FI. The carb it self may get gummed up after a while (mine hasn't yet in the 2 1/2 yrs I've had it) and may you need to clean it but that really isnt a big deal.

But with going FI I could probably get a much better MPG when not racing.

I don't think that car is overpriced. I would probably negotiate down a bit. If you got it for under $9K, and the car is clean and well put together, I would call that a nice deal. You're hard pressed to get a nice paint job for under $4K these days.

You can get a better deal. It's clean but way over priced. You just have to be patient and look around

I guess the reason I like the 92 notch I originally posted is because its so clean, no need to throw any money into getting it fixed to get it on the road. All I would have to do is turn the key and drive it in style. I don't know, Cookie, now that you posted my old cobra, its very tempting to want that snake back! I miss that car and look at my pics I have of it all the time!

well for the cost, you could just pay a shop to throw in a trans and have someone spray the bumper and you'd be still under the cost of the other one...

Talked to him via text this morning extensively, car is in the shop getting fixed now (trans is being rebuilt) and my cousin does part time body work while he is going through the police academy and could do it on the side with me for material cost.

Im gonna try and make it happen. Just have to sell my bike (2001 GSXR 600, needs some work, all cosmetic , cost is $2850 OBO)
