Due to the fact the other thread I started was jacked due to server issues, I finally have time to post the specs of the new build that I am undertaking.

Having come from a 10:1 compression aluminator longblock, I decided I want (not need) more. Sold the aluminator shortblock, kept the heads, and have decided to go with a Boss 5.0 block and some big power!

I have officially turned John Tymensky of Modular Performance on to do this dream build for me. I contemplated doing it myself, however, I wanted his expertise and the little "odds and ends" tricks he performs. Each engine he builds is custom. Made to meet my specs and vehicle application. Engine build will start after June 20th, so there is no instant gratification in this thread. Merely another topic for all of you to follow along, and learn a little something more (at my expense )

Details of my dream engine build: This engine will have my 2.9 Whipple on top

- Boss 5.0 Iron Modular Block
- Stock Stroke Cobra Crank (Kellogg)
- 10.7:1 compression, Diamond flat top pistons with valve reliefs
- Oliver I-Beam Rods, H13 .200" wrist pins
- Stage 2 port from Modular Head shop
- Custom MP cams John designs for my specific application
: Peak power @ 6800 rpms, with intended shift points @ 7100 rpms
: Cams degreed by John
- ARP everything
: Head studs, Side bolts, main cap, and rods
- Melling oil pump (billet gears)

- McLeod RXT twin disk clutch
- 1 3/4 LTs with 3" collector, 3" offroad X, into my current catback
: Most likely Kooks, but maybe ARH. Still deciding
: Will have LTs and offroad X ceramic coated locally (and polished)

- And a whole bunch of little odds and ends I will be doing while I wait for the engine to complete.

I want to throw a special thanks to E85, without you my Miracle Fuel, none of this would ever be possible

Stayed tuned! Will post here regularly as build progresses. Should be another epic thread

I'm excited for this.

Not as much as I am! Doing this year what I wanted to do last year....but got impatient and wanted my car together quickly last year. I have a different mindset now.

SUBBBBEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD. Good luck.. lets see if you can max out the 2.9 whipple!

Keep us updated!!

My goal here is NOT to max out the whipple 2.9. I will be running 15 psi or so in the beginning. Taking it up to 20-21 psi further down the road. I plan on spinning the blower less.....lower IAT2S, less parasitic hp loss, etc etc. I will be letting the compression and added displacement do the work.

Wow...this car's gonna move out.

It is going to be a beast for sure!

Ill be watching this build...after seeing what the 2.9 did on my bone stock motor..im interested to see what it does on a well designed worked setup at high boost and lots of timing...800+ rwhp easily im guessing....best of luck

Sweet build man! Do you have any new power goals?

My goal is to get it to 800 rwhp / 700 rwtq and keep it there. John has told me that is very conservative.....and that he could do that with stock cams lol!

Easily yes...... bigger displacement, over 2 point more compression, e85. Should be a fun ride!

Nice combo! Should be fun to see it come together.

Thanks Kev....gonna take a while to all come together, but will all be worth it. Attention to detail this go round is next to none.

Guess I will follow this junk build too! :)

LOL...another "what not to do to a perfectly good cobra" thread :bash:

taking it one step farther this time.......will be overengineered and able to handle anything i wanna throw at it

go ahead ! all sounds good. my E85 Plans got shot to hell when the only station around didn't sell it even though it was on the list of E85 stations?
so iam just going to be a 93 man! big bore 3.700 is better ,unshrouds the valves to more the heads flow 20/30 more cfm as is. almost like having cams or slightly ported heads,

no porting here , no cams here either .
all i need are the same kooks and x pipe your going with and arp head studs, then just time ! no update pics just yet, but will start adding once i get on it again.
i want mine streetable..just looking for 700rwhp nothing fancy. can't put 600 to the ground now. LOL. subed ...GL!

too bad you cant get e85....that stuff is the ticket!

Don't even need the killer chiller, spinning the blower less at lower boost (in my case) and running e85 quite honestly negates anything the killer chiller will gain.

anyway.....i removed the AC from my car anyway lol. Never used it, took it out, boxed it up, and set it to the side. Where my AC condenser was....is now where i have a big radiator stlye fuel cooler to keep the corn nice and cool with the big magnafuel mp-4101 pump i will be running.
