+1 for the BOSS 5.0L crew :) Damn, you made short work of removing and disassembling that thing, nice. Your helper is awesome by the way.

def, that block is the way to go. it will be built for more than i should ever throw at it. gonna be a solid setup after im done.

when im in project mode, time flies and before you know, the car is in pieces!

my helper is a high maintenance typical North Dallas chic....but she gives me the support I need in disassembling a perfectly good engine.

i did find one problem though!! driver side head, one of the cam support brackets were broken....never seen that and i suspect either material fatigue or bad torquing process when this head was built by Ford. dont have a pic.....but definently an issue.

shortblock is perfect.......and will be a great platform for someone who wants it.....

^^ Yup absolutley over build the crap outta it.. that's what I did lol.. That way I never have to second guess if I want to put TT's on it, or a 2.9L with a shot of nitrous etc. lol. You're car is going to be down right crazy man!

yep, it will be done and done right for big power, who knows what the future holds you know. It is kind of weird pulling an engine that is perfectly normal, however i will feel better having the Oliver billet rods as well as custom pistons, with valve reliefs.

I will be sticking with 10:1 compression, Modular Head Shop stage 2 heads, custom ground cams for my specific setup.

I want to have it built....to handle the extra compression.....and boost increases on the whipple 2.9. ive barely been spinning that blower, and didnt want to risk damaging the aluminator shortblock by pushing it too hard.

So now, here is a perfect shortblock, sitting in my garage, all bagged up and waiting for the next guy to take her home!

thanks bud. I'm just waiting for people to return emails and phone calls. They dont seem very interested to stand behind their products at this point.

I'm building a fuel system in that bullit. The kid bought the full kit from lethal but as we both know.........you dont need 3 different y blocks and such. I deleted about 15 fittings from the setup but he needs to buy a -8 o ring and -10 o ring fitting for the front of the fuel rails. do you happen to remember what one you told me to buy for mine? I cant find that info you sent me anywhere.

here is a closeup of the issue i found while going to remove driver side head. i suspect metal fatigue or poor torquing practice by ford. chunk of metal just sitting in the head

earls. isnt it a -10 an to -8 male o ring. Then he will also need a -8 an to -8 male o ring.................I guess I'm going to replace the -6 an to 1/4 npt fittings in my tophat to see if that cures my leak problem. No email or phone call back from anyone to help out.

gotcha. that is what I was thinking. just wanted to make sure before I told him to order these parts. Yes I will be feeding -10 an to -8 o ring on pass side but I am short a -8 o ring fitting for the driver side out of the rail to the regulator so he will need to get one of those too.

Yea that's the way to do it for sure!! Not only that but being able to have ARP main studs is a big thing too! I don't believe the AL motors come with mainstuds from Ford. The crank will break before anything else will on that build that's for sure! Unless you are going with a billet crank or something.. uh oh hopefully I didn't just cost you money lol.
