If it wasn't for the L....

so I'm in the market for another vehicle.....and I can't seem to get over the Lightning. I've driven IS300's, M3's, Cobalt SS's, GT500's and other boring cars. I can't seem to like anything else other than Lightnings. The Cobra is amazing, but at the end of the day it's still a Mustang and will continue to lose value day by day. I know that the Lightnings depreciate as well, but the badass factor seems to equal out. I'm moving to Dallas in January and just the fact of being able to load a bed vs a trunk with all my equipment and furniture seems to outweigh my decision.

Has anyone that has left the L family for anything else found anything as satisfying? I don't think it's possible!

I know how you feel.. L's really do have a special value of their own not relating to the monetary value... I've bought other vehicles other than the L and I cant say that any do the same thing as the L does..

I am happy with my 300c SRT8 as a DD considering I like having rear doors.. I've also mildly modded it and it really does get peppy once livened a bit. tends to surprise lots of people as the L does.

That said, the L is just I dont know, different...

Agreed, ive had my L for about 4yrs and its been down for the last yr and a half for modds, i cant wait to drive it again, i have a 03 cobra and its awesome but it still feels like a mustang, the L doesnt feel like a F150 though it feels like a L

I know what you guys are sayin. My 04 has 57,000 miles on it now and I have no idea on what other vehicle I would ever want. I still get asked about my truck all the time. I ran to the store to get some stuff last night and two dif. guys as me about my truck. One when I was getting out and one when I was getting back in it.

Go give a srt10 RC a test drive. Drove my buddy's a couple times. Very fun. However, it's a little more expensive modding. Pistons are the weak link.

I sold my '04 L for a '03 Mach. It's been about 2 years now. I love the Mach, but really miss the L. Ideally I would have both. They each have their pro and cons.

My wife and I had a 01 White Lightning and although it was technically hers I did all the work to it. Really missed it when we sold it. I searched for anything with the WOW factor like the Lightning and I now drive a 04 DSG Lightning. Once I did the suspension I was hooked once more. She is going to bury me in it. I Just Love my L

I went from a SC Mach to an L. Even though my Mach would walk the L in it's current form, the L has greater all around ability. I'm extremely impressed with the low end torque of this truck. Off the line she's hard to beat.:rockon:

Im in the same boat as mine hasn't ran in 2 years. My cobra is fun, but nothing like the L.

i respectfully disagree about the cobra being "just another mustang." they hold value pretty well and I cant seem to find any other car I would want to replace my term with. In saying that, I want an L so damn bad, it hurts sometimes. lol
Just not worth giving up my term so I will just keep saving til I can have both.

I live in the detroit area and theres alot of srt8 jeeps around here and all soccer mom's drive them, its the new minivan around here. Now in detroit if you dont have a cobra or z06 your just small crap tryin to be cool and it sucks cause i get no credit for my L.

there is no beating by srt8 cause all the cars here in detroit at the real street races are full blown race cars and ill tell you that there is no lightning out there that will keep up with the cars around here and thats what i ment about getting no credit for my L. it seems if you are not running low low 10's or 9's on the street you are nothing. and here chevy rules the streets it sucks.

I've beat SRT's and Vettes. Been beat by a Honda. So what? My L is as fast as most cars want to be. It's reliable and it gets me where I want to go in style and a hurry.
