Honestly if I were going to buy a car on here, I'd make the person list it on ebay. That way assuming the seller is legit, the car will have a $20,000 warranty that will cover anything that's wrong that wasn't disclosed. Also, it would be covered under paypal. Good luck.

its like jerry springer on here, very entertaining... sucks this happened, 17yoa kid who probably had on knowledge of cars and kept driving it... people buy cars all the time without looking at them, would i do it, no, but people do so to criticize him for that is irrelevant.. fact is he got the shaft, either the seller or the shipper f***ed this car up.. id be suing and to not have the original title is horsesh*t.. u pay it outright the title better be in the mail the day the check clears.... good luck with the fix man, if u still have it..

If 04OUTLAW (whatever his name is) actually did get screwed over by this, the issue would have been settled long ago in a court of law, not on some internet forum.

Talking is, I believe, a legally binding contract. Therefore, if the seller said 'Yes, the car has this many miles, I put a full tank of gas in it, it was working perfect when it was shipped' then you should be able to hold him to it in a court of law. I could go on, but it's beating a dead horse.

Good to see you're trying to push your trash onto someone else now. You avoided all claims about the extra miles, you avoided any help people had because you thought your way was right. The way I see it, you are the one at fault for not taking any sort of legal action on this. If you had a bill of sale it should include that you are purchasing the car as described by the seller (his parents, in this case) which would hold in a court of law.

tl;dr: You were lazy about the whole thing because you either didnt care and just wanted to bitch about it, or more likely that you messed up something and tried to pawn it off on him.

Wow can't believe this thread was reborn. I completely rebuilt the motor from top to bottom. It had blown the head gasket between cylinder #7 and #8. I had the short block honed, re-ringed, and the bearings replaced. The heads were resurfaced, new seals, and 5 angle valve job.. I also put IRS in it because of the driveshaft issue. The car runs and drives perfect now I've got about 16k dollars in it now. Hopefully this thread will help others make wiser decisions when it comes to buying cars not everyone on this forum are honest adults some are lying kids....

So wait you fixed it or you traded it? The above post from 6 months ago say you traded it in and the dealer fixed it... Either way this whole thing sucks hard man, sorry and I hate having idiots that live so close to me do things like this.
