It all comes with a starting MSRP of $19,995.
Few trucks have garnered more attention than the 2020+ Tremor Super Duty. Its combination of styling and capability is the thing of which truck-lovers dream. Then you have to take into account the two exceptional powertrain options available on the Tremor. The 3rd Gen 6.7L Powerstroke diesel is a turbocharged steel-piston’ed beast, while the 7.3L Godzilla V8 has curb-stomped all other gasoline fired competition. We’ve covered different aspects of the Tremor several times over the past year, but recently we had the opportunity to test one in its natural environment – Off-Road.
By now, I’m sure you guys are familiar with the features that make the Tremor package a bit step above the common FX4 Off Road package. The Super Duty...
The truck of the future is here. The F-150 Lightning is the smartest, most innovative truck Ford has ever built. From near instant torque to intelligent towing, seamless connectivity to software updates, plus power for your home, a power frunk and a digital screen that’s larger than any currently offered on a full-size truck – F-150 Lightning is a driving and ownership experience unlike any other.
F-150 Lightning will roll off the line next year at a new high-tech factory using sustainable manufacturing practices at Ford’s storied Rouge complex in Dearborn just outside Detroit.
A completely new era in stock car racing is ushered in today as Ford unveils its all-new 2022 NASCAR Next Gen Mustang to the public in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Next Gen Mustang will compete in the NASCAR Cup Series starting next season.
The new car, which has been under development for two years, is completely different from its predecessor – redesigned from the ground up. Unlike past versions, with the exterior being the only noticeable change, this model is built for the future, featuring flexibility for technological advances such as a hybrid or electric powertrain.
Ford delivers on its promise to offer more rugged SUVs and trucks with the new Explorer Timberline – the most off-road-capable Explorer ever. The first Timberline series Ford SUV is designed to give customers more capable off-road features to enjoy weekend adventures with family and friends.
Explorer Timberline is the latest addition to America’s all-time best-selling SUV lineup. The seventh new rugged SUV or truck Ford has introduced since 2019, Explorer Timberline joins the all-new Bronco brand two- and four-door Bronco and Bronco Sport, all-new F-150 Raptor, and the Tremor lineup of Ford trucks – Ranger Tremor, F-150 Tremor and F-Series Super Duty Tremor.
“Too much power is almost enough.” Those words ring particularly true in the world of diesel trucks. While GM seems to have fallen by the wayside in the HP one-upmanship among the Big 3, Ford and Ram are steadily cranking up the performance dial on their respective diesels. And there no shortage of aftermarket companies out there to help the diesel enthusiast get their torque fix. Recently, we caught up with the guys over at 5 Star Tuning while they had a 2017 Powerstroke F-250 on the dyno. That truck was in for some custom tuning to go along with some newly installed upgrades.
Chief among the new mods was Mishimoto’s newly released 6.7L Powerstroke Intercooler. The 6.7 PSD, unlike previous model...
Adding to Bronco® brand’s off-road competition credentials, two lead Ford Bronco engineers piloting an all-new, fully stock 2021 Bronco Badlands four-door SUV across the harsh terrain of Mexico’s Baja peninsula landed a podium finish in the NORRA Mexican 1000 off-road rally. The five-day rally began Sunday near the port city of Ensenada.
The team posted a third-place finish in the Pre-Runner Truck class. “Bronco has a long, successful history racing down here so we wanted to put the new one to the test as our final Built Wild Extreme Testing validation – and it exceeded our every expectation for performance across this treacherous environment,” said Bronco engineering manager Jamie Groves. “This race is a key final...
We all knew it was just a matter of time. The 7.3L Godzilla is the forbidden fruit of modern cubic inches that many in the Ford community have been lusting for since the last 385 Series rolled off the lines in the late 90’s. Sure; there was the Modular V10, but the exterior dimensions and weight of that engine precluded it ever being anything beyond a novelty in a vehicle that wasn’t truck based. Conversely, the 7.3L V8 is compact and relatively lightweight. Side-by-side, a Coyote based V8 appears physically massive next to a ‘Zilla. That means Godzilla may develop into a very popular swap consideration.
Still, for every new venture you’re going to need a few trail-blazers to clear the hurdles and illuminate the challenges for everyone else. That’s...
This one was a surprise, so I’m just going to lead with the major take-away from the story and fill in the details as I go along. The 4th Generation (2018+) Expedition is one of the best new vehicles I have driven in years. If I were in the market for a new SUV, the Expedition is what I would buy. To put it simply, I am impressed.
Our time with our 2020 King Ranch Expedition test vehicle was a bit more extensive than usual. We had the opportunity to take it on a 1,000+ mile road trip, which included a decent amount of winter weather driving. To make things more interesting, this particular truck was a 2WD model. This was a bit unusual for us, being that Ford tends to send out test vehicles that are fully loaded. The missing transfer case was...
Ford Performance Parts today revealed four new aftermarket carbon fiber components for the exterior of the Mustang Shelby® GT500®. Showcased at a GT500 track tour event at Texas International Speedway outside Dallas, the parts are the first aftermarket carbon fiber accessories offered by Ford Performance for the pinnacle pony car since the latest-generation GT500 debuted last year. All four components go on sale today at
“Authenticity and personalization are what our Mustang Shelby GT500 customers want, and our new carbon fiber performance accessories provide an elevated track-proven look from every angle,” said Mark Wilson, Ford North America vehicle personalization, planning and operations manager. “Beyond...
Porting intake manifolds has been part of a hot-rodder’s arsenal of tricks for over a century. Your grand-dad was probably sanding down the runner on a Flat-Head-Ford in 1950. The thing is, those proven methods can still show gains on modern engines. Depending on the platform, modders have found different levels of success from bolting on a ported intake manifold. The 2018+ Gen 3 Coyote engine appears to be particularly happy with a little port work. Since the 7.3L motor has been quite popular, it only makes sense to see how it would respond.
The guys over at 5 Star Tuning have been toying around with different combinations on their bevy of Godzilla powered test trucks. So when Josh had a chance to test out a freshly ported intake manifold on his 7.3L equipped F-250...
Ford adds three new choices to America’s all-time best-selling SUV, the Ford Explorer. New for 2021 is a lower-priced Explorer Enthusiast ST, powered by Ford Performance, and a better-value rear-wheel-drive Explorer Platinum, while Platinum Hybrid takes Explorer’s three rows to new levels of luxury and efficiency.
All the new Explorer lineup additions are driven by customer feedback, starting with the Explorer Enthusiast ST. Like Explorer ST, Enthusiast ST is the most powerful Explorer ever – built for customers who want that same spirited fun and performance, but at a lower cost.
It’s been a bit over a year since we got to spend some time in a 2019 Bullitt Mustang. That particular car restored my faith in the S550 platform. To put it simply, that was my favorite iteration of a factory S550 Mustang built to that point. We tested that car at a time before the Shelby GT350 received its quiet round of mid- model upgrades that substantially work it up in comparison to the early run versions. The Bullitt benefited from the GT350’s intake tract, but managed to crank out greater low end grunt while not requiring 50 pounds of mass dampers to prevent shaking itself to pieces.
As it stands, the Bullitt is still my favorite non-Ford Performance S550. Its combination of styling, performance, and upgrade potential is simply tough...

“Super Duty customers aren’t just working harder these days, they are also working smarter,” said Todd Eckert, Ford Truck Group Marketing manager. “We’re further helping our customers raise their game and get the job done with purposeful technology through the introduction of SYNC 4 with a larger 12-inch screen and 24x7 cloud connectivity for both their truck and mobile devices.”
Ford Explorer, America’s all-time best-selling SUV1, adds the first-ever King Ranch edition to its stable, giving midsize SUV customers an all-new rugged, premium appearance with the uncompromising quality, craftsmanship and authenticity of the iconic Texas ranch.
“In 1853, Captain Richard King bootstrapped the King Ranch in the harsh landscape of southern Texas until it became a shining example of agricultural and livestock innovation and success,” said Lee Newcombe, Ford Explorer marketing manager. “Ford Explorer families can now enjoy a piece of the King Ranch’s renowned craftsmanship and the multigeneration legacy that still thrives 168 years after its founding.”
Ford is expanding the Expedition full-size SUV lineup with the new STX Package, a spacious choice with an attractive price for customers who need seating for five plus the versatility and capability of a full-size SUV.
“The Expedition STX is perfect for families who lead an active lifestyle that requires the capability and space of a full-size SUV,” said Devin McParlane, Expedition brand manager. “They get all of the content they desire at an attractive price, plus a great appearance.”
I have to admit, the more I drive the Ford Ranger the more I like it. The Ranger is currently Ford’s smallest pickup truck (keep an eye out for the upcoming Maverick), and it excellently combines throwback style ride and handling with modern safety and convenience. A bit over a year ago we had the opportunity to spend a week with a Sport Appearance Pack equipped Ranger Lariat, and we really enjoyed our time with it. Fast forward ~13 months and we were once again placed behind the wheel of 2020 Ranger FX4, but this time we got to let it flex its off road abilities quite a bit more.
First, I have to say that every positive aspect we noted in our previous Ranger review has only improved. The Ranger is one of those vehicles where the more time you’re given to...
Ford, America’s truck leader, created an off-road icon in 2009 when it introduced the desert racing-inspired F-150 Raptor. It was designed to not only speed over rough terrain, but also to jump and catch air.
And today, it’s born again with an all-new third-generation F-150 Raptor that takes the mechanical and technical brilliance and precision of Raptor and infuses it with enhanced connected technology that means the experience of owning one will only improve over time.
