The Inside Scoop on Ford's New 7.3L Gas Burner

How is that for a click-baity title? For the past few months we've been treated to a plethora of wild speculation on future product releases from Ford. There are certain websites out there who build an audience on posting what amounts to fan-fiction headed by a click-bait title and passing it off as fact. We've had the discussion on that level of journalism here before, and you can find my feelings on it pretty easily. That brings me to today’s topic, Ford’s supposed new Big-Cube Gasser as discussed in this thread on SVTP:

SVTPerformance - New Ford 7.0 DOHC Motor in the Works

All this speculation... Click here to Continue Reading...
Let Me Get a Look in There | SVTP Tool-Tech | USB Borescope Camera

Ever wonder if you’ve had some detonation in your engine, and possibly some damage to the pistons? If you could buy yourself some peace-of-mind for $20 would you do it? Well I did. One late night after a few bourbons I was doing a little online shopping, which is always a good idea, and I ran across this super cheap bore-scope camera. While I didn’t have an immediate need for it the features, low price, and my lowered inhibitions all conspired to get it to my door with 2-Day Prime shipping. Click Here to Continue Reading...
FatFab GT/GT350 Twin Turbo Development

Hey guys!!

We have been working on our final production twin turbo kit and I wanted to share some progress. The kit will have a few changes from the custom kits we have been doing. These are the parts that will be used in our 800R, 1000R and 1200R turbo packages.

We now have custom mandrel bent header tubes that we fit up and weld in house using our 304 Stainless Steel billet collector. Billet collectors add a ton of strength and durability. All the runners are heavy wall 304 stainless to withstand the abuse of a high horsepower turbo setup... Click Here to Continue Reading...
A Little Snip-Snip | SVTP Tool-Tech | Lisle Hose Cutters

[/CENTER]

If you work on vehicles long enough you're going to have occasion to trim a few hoses. Be it a supercharger install or running a vacuum line for a boost gauge it's going to happen sooner or later. And one of the things you're going to struggle with is making a clean cut, especially with a knife or razor blade. That difficulty also increases as hose diameter increases. Luckily, there's a better way. Click Here to Continue Reading...
What's in There? | SVTP Tool-Tech | Longacre Oil Filter Cutter

The mystery of the hidden, it always seems to spark a bit of curiosity in my mind. Oil filters are one of those topics that car guys love to argue over. I'd say it ranks right up there with the classic Ford Vs. Chevy and the ever-popular 'Which brand of oil?'. However, it's typically not a great idea to judge a book or oil filter by its cover, so to get a good idea of which one to buy you really want to see what's going on inside the can. That's where the Longacre Oil Filter Cutter tool comes into play... Click Here to Continue Reading...
Getting Out of a Tight Spot | SVTP Tool-Tech | Lisle Exhaust Hanger Removal Pliers

It's a formula as old as hot-rodding. Swapping in a aftermarket exhaust system is one of the holy trinity of mods (Intake, Tune, and Exhaust). Whether you do it for more power or better sound, chances are a new exhaust system is pretty high on your list of first-round modifications. Further; since this is SVTP, there's a pretty good chance that you'll be tackling the install yourself.

If you're anything like me you've spent many-a-Saturday laying out in the driveway fighting with a ridiculously tight rubber exhaust hanger support. Have you ever really taken a close look at those components? They're designed to be easy to put together, and that's about it. The Ford engineers designing the thing didn't really care to prioritize ease of removal because that's not a process that's done very often in the repair shop. So what we, the end user, is left with is job that is often much more difficult than what should be necessary... Click Here to Continue Reading...
Remember Your First Time? | SVTP Tool-Tech | GarageBOSS Drain Pans

We all have to start somewhere, and for many of us the first time we turned wrenches on one of our vehicles was to do routine maintenance like an oil change. That’s where I got my start, and it has led to a serious avoidance of lube-shops and mechanics that is still going strong today. Doing a little work in the garage is the next best thing to a vacation, and if you just spent your income tax refund on a VMP Supercharger or some-such go-fast part it may have to double as a vacation.

However, there’s a few things you need to in order to reach a new level of ratchet based zen. An understanding significant other help, cold beer is an absolute necessity, and the right tools can make all the difference. That’s why we’re starting a new weekly series of SVTP Tool-Tech Videos. We’ll be covering everything from basic hand tools, to specialty tools that can make the difference between a relaxing weekend install and an endless Hellscape of bleeding knuckles and foul language... SVTP Coverage From PITS2018 | + | The First SVT/FPV Total Display

It's been a busy few days since the Second Annual Ponies in the Smokies event in Sevierville, TN; but we're finally getting caught up here in the office. That being the case, it's time for us to share some of our experiences and a few pics (71 to be exact) from the event. In particular, I'd really like to feature the First Ever SVTPerformance/SVTOA Total SVT Display.

For the first time anywhere we attempted to assemble one of every SVT and Ford Performance model (including Cobra Rs) into a single show field. We came very close to completing the collection, only missing the current and elusive Ford GT, and the sight was something to behold. Plans are already underway for the 2019 iteration of this presentation, and it's looking to be quite interesting... Click Here to Continue Reading...
