Well, that was humbling. BMW M4 competition.

I have my 3.73s installed now and turn off all the nannies so I'd like another crack at him. Going to add headers and a full exhaust hopefully this summer. I'm around 650rwhp now.

So, turned everything off, and took her for a ride. Is it my imagination that the car seems even quicker? Quicker response, quicker shifts, even more torque.

Well, that was humbling. BMW M4 competition.

Okay, good to know. Was curious how much the nannies slowed things down.
  4. MustangSteve1965

Well, that was humbling. BMW M4 competition.

Okay, here's a noob question. I've been reading about the different stability control modes. Would it have helped if I was in sport, or is that just from the dig and not a roll?
  5. MustangSteve1965

Well, that was humbling. BMW M4 competition.

Yes, I believe I’m mistaken. I believe he said I could get there or close to it with some simple exhaust mods.
  6. MustangSteve1965

Well, that was humbling. BMW M4 competition.

Yea, I'm guessing it's far more accurate than our cars readings on the track app.
  7. MustangSteve1965

Well, that was humbling. BMW M4 competition.

Yes, I'm going to look into getting a dragy. I see one on Amazon for $159. On the mods, I've discussed next steps with my tuner, Lidio. He advised full exhaust, whipple and possibly E85, though I'd prefer to stick with 93 if possible. He advised not going over ~730RWHP with the stock block...

Well, that was humbling. BMW M4 competition.

So, put over 100 miles on the new 3.73 and decided to try it out a bit. I still didn't want to drop the hammer 100% yet, but let's just say the pull from 50 in 2nd was insane! Maybe I'm imagining it but I think I would've at least given that BMW a better race with the new gears!

2nd, I learned my lesson last year when I ran a C7Z06 and started in 3rd and got fried.

This is what I have done so far. Whipple CAI, Whipple Twin 68MMTB, Metco 2.4" upper, Metco Auxiliary Idler Kit, ARS Belt Tensioner, NGK Plugs, MGW Shifter, Nitto NT555 R2s 295/35ZR20s out back and of course now the 3.73s instead of the stock 3.31

I have a 2013 Shelby GT500 with the Performance Package. The problem is that it's "stuck" in Sport mode.

Will do. Going out this evening to put some more miles on it.

Great, thanks for the reply and info. Also good to know on the added mileage for break in. Mine is a Ford racing 3.73.

I have a 2013 Shelby GT500 with the Performance Package. The problem is that it's "stuck" in Sport mode.

Bumping this old thread since I finally got the 3.73s installed. Lidio said to run it conservatively for about 100 miles to break it in. What should I expect from the 3.73s? Better/faster launch? Better from a roll? I know I mentioned running that BMW M4 competition and getting walked...

  15. MustangSteve1965

Well, that was humbling. BMW M4 competition.

So, the car is almost done at Lidio's with the rear end. Turns out I had 3.31s and will have 3.73s. How much if any does that help me in that race against the BMW?

Exhaust shop recommendations in Metro Detroit (Oakland/Macomb County) area.

Lidio recommended the Kooks 1 3/4. Pretty sure he can do them but he's several weeks out on them.

Exhaust shop recommendations in Metro Detroit (Oakland/Macomb County) area.

Thinking of putting on some Kooks 1 3/4 headers X pipe and cat back. Any recommendations on a good exhaust shop in the northwest Oakland/NW Macomb county area?

Well, that was humbling. BMW M4 competition.

Yea, that's the truth and partly what's fueling the HP wars which benefits us all. Only a few years ago it seems, 662HP was an insane number. Now the Shelby's approach 800, the Mopars have some 800HP cars and GM is loading up a new ZR1 supercar that's rumored to be in the 800HP range. How soon...

Well, that was humbling. BMW M4 competition.

Was just driving home down a pretty open two lane road and a BMW comes up to me with the usual loud BMW exhaust sound. I typically stay away from street racing but it was later, the road was ride open, the temps were cool, so I figured what the heck. I've raced a few BMW M classes before...
