-RPM Outlet REALLY Screwed Me Over, Anybody Have Stingers In Stock?-
So I call to place an order for my Borla Stingers on June 12th (a monday)and all goes well. Great price, free shipping, small oversize charge, very cool. The order goes through and I'm happy. I call back to check that they'll ship out the next day, and they confrim it all. Thursday rolls around, my tracking number still doesn't work, and I call to find out what's up. THe guy I'm talking with puts me on hold, and when he comes back, he tells me it turns out my CB is backordered! Good thing nobody cared to tell me that, and that they let me place to order and confirm shipping. THey do tell me that it'll be about 7-10 days, so I'll live with it. Time rolls on, I call up and ask what the deal is. THey say so far, no Stingers, but they take my number and they'll call me back the same day with an ETA. They never call. A few days later, I call AGAIN! They say the same thing...still never call! Today I call once again, and they say that Borla has no ETA for my CB, and has none prepared to ship out! This is almost a month now, and NO progress has been made whatsoever. The worst part is, now that I've waited so long and put my faith in what they've told me in terms of shipping estimates, if they issue me a credit, Citibank will take another two weeks to honor it!!! PLUS, now that I've waited, all the other places that had the CB in stock at the time are all out of stock! I am FURIOUS! Does anyone know a place with good prices that has Stingers in stock?
he'll take care of ya! RPMoutlet are a bunch of morons. i bought some pulleys there once, and they didnt even have instructions with the part. i call em up, and they said they didnt have instructions for the part when they were ready to be sold to the public. im like, "wtf! who sells a part that doesnt have instructions ready for to included with it?" idiots....

Called him up, he's going to give me a call back with the status. Are those Magnaflow prices on his site correct? Good lord, well under $400 for the Maggie CB? Hell, I could get a Magnaflow CB and catted X for the same price as the Stingers!!
Sorry to hear of your bad experience. To protect yourself, dont let places charge you before they ship your item. Frankly, they shouldn't do that anyways, but if they do, raise hell. As soon as they have your money, you drop on their priority list.
Can you file a chargeback with Citibank? I had to do that once with my VISA and they credited me immediately. They did tell me I would be recharged if it was adjudicated in the Vendor's favor though.

I just bought some Stingers off ebay on Tuesday and they just showed up at my office. I didn't even receive an email that they had shipped yet and here they are!! Plus, only $499.95 with free shipping even!

I saw none on Ebay, already looked. The problem with Citibank is that they take FOREVER to issue charges. A really similar incident happened with the Gibson CB I had ordered for my Dakota, and they took about two weeks to get me my money back.

Actually just found that right before you posted. I called them up directly and bought it! $10 more to buy it direct vs the net, but hell it secures it now, avoids any internet confusion, and they're located right in NJ! Plus they have it in stock. Thanks a BUNCH for the heads up! Time to go cnacel my RPM order!
I didn't know! Plus, RPM outlet had the best price at $607 vs. $730 everywhere else; that was before I saw that EBay auction. Viper, the Borla's simply sound the best to me, and they're made from higher quality stainless. I don't mind paying that much for something that sounds the best, looks the best, and lasts the longest.
No problem... I'm having mine put on tomorrow. I didn't realize that my GT exhaust would be that much cheaper, but I can't wait to hear how the Stingers sound!!
Yeah, the GT system does cost less. I'm sure it has to do with both IRS compatibility, and the fact that it's a smaller market they have to go through the cost of manufacturing for versus GT owners.
After Ninosport.com gave me the "Now you see it price! Now you don't" I bought mine a month ago from Brad at Performance peddler in MI 1-800 470-1443
$589 shipped. I order on a Monday at 10AM! when I got home from work Tuesday afternoon A 6ft brown box with Borla Stingers part#140052 was waiting for me at the front door. An hour after I opened the box I had them installed on the car.
Never mind, it's $730 now there too, just checked. Stingers went up in price if you guys haven't noticed.
I just talkedto brad and he got 1 left at the 589 price. Tell him you just talked to me and that why you're calling! I'm Randy Bates you tell him that and he'll sell it to you at the price i bought mine for. I get nothing out of this! just trying to help you out.
Damn it!!! Stop telling me that!!! I already ordered the set from the place in NJ! It will take Citibank WEEKS to credit me that charge, and I still have to wait for RPM Outlet's credit to go through. Christ I wish I could jump on that deal.
Edit: Just called Citibank, and since it's still an Authorization, it would take 2 bus. days for it to show up back in my account, but that's still 2 days. Could your pal hold that catback until then? I need to cancel my new order tonight if so, so let me know.

DAMN! Just called up the new place, nothing I can do. They can't cancel an order once it's being processed for shipment, like mine already is. Plus, I just found out they do price matching! I could have gotten the same price as RPM Outlet ($607.50)!!! This is just not my day.
LOL! I was just trying to help. I doubt he can hold it. And I'm sure whoever else reads this post will call him and drop my name as he only has the one left and the prices have gone through the roof. If it's any difference to you! You will be very happy with the fit & finish of the system and the sound is just awesome! I'm running just the C/B with stock mid pipe and stock headers and I plan on leaving it that way.
Customer service is what makes or breaks a business. It's the face of the business; who people deal with when they buy from a business. Without it, it doesn't matter HOW good your prices are. I guess I'll have to get over eating the $70. I was perfectly happy with the deal until I heard your price, so why shouldn't I still be happy? It's funny how it's never what people have, but what they COULD have had. Plus, they're right in NJ, so shipping should be super-quick. I love, I mean LOVE the sound of these things too, but I will be swapping out the midpipe not too long from now to gain more power. With a good X-Pipe, Stingers sound really mean. How was install for you? I plan on doing it myself with two jackstands.
